Tiffany Kirklin, a junior agribusiness major from Rector, has been named the first recipient of the Kelsey Hall Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship at ASU.

Kirklin is a graduate of Rector High School. Her campus involvement includes the Agribusiness Club and the Collegiate Farm Bureau, and she participates in the ASU Honors College. Following graduation, Kirklin hopes to pursue a career in agricultural marketing or finance. She is the daughter of Scott and Cherie Kirklin of Rector.

The Kelsey Hall Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship was established by friends and family of Jonesboro native Kelsey Hall, who died in 2007.

The scholarship will be awarded annually to a junior or senior agribusiness major that is an Arkansas resident having a 2.5 or higher GPA.

Hall was a graduate of Valley View High School and a prominent Craighead County farmer. His family was named the 1993 Farm Family for Craighead County, and he was named 2006 Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce Farmer of the Year.

Hall also held seats of the boards of the Craighead County Farmers Co-Op and the Community Leadership Board of Mercantile Bank.
