The 75th annual Student Honors Awards held Monday featured many awards given to the ASU's most outstanding graduating seniors.

It was an emotional night for many during the The Faculty Honors Convocation Wednesday at Fowler Center Grand Hall. The Faculty Association presented plaques to the retiring faculty and all the distinguished retirees were thanked of their many years of service and commitment to the ASU.

Distinguished ASU graduate and vice president of public relations at Universal Orlando Resort Michael Lewellen encouraged students to create and develop their own personal brand at the College of Communications awards banquet Wednesday night.
Lewellen, a graduate of ASU's journalism department with 26 years of experience in public relations, gave sound advice and other words of wisdom to Communications students receiving awards for various achievements.

Inauguration for the new Student Government Association administration took place at Tuesday's meeting. One new aspect of this administration is the creation of a campus involvement director, who will be working with the publications director.
SGA president Ryan Beaird believes that the need for more SGA publicity is crucial and the sitution wasn't handled well by past administration.

The Graduate Scholar's Day Conference (GSDC) was held Wednesday, April 9, in the Student Union Auditorium. The GSDC provided a forum for graduate students to present their research and academic work. The mission of the GSDC is to promote research among the graduate student body at Arkansas State University and other institutions in the region.
