The Arkansas State football team is no stranger to challenges. How they respond to those challenges will go a long way in determining how successful their 2008 season will be.
In addition, to their usual Sun Belt Conference schedule, ASU plays non-conference games against Big 12 conference opponent Texas A&M, SEC opponent Alabama, and Conference USA opponents Memphis and Southern Mississippi.
The Red Wolves era officially began Saturday when the ASU women's soccer team beat Central Arkansas 5-2 at the ASU soccer park in front of a record crowd of 468.
The game was the first time that an Arkansas State athletic team competed since the adoption of the new mascot.
