Today A-State notified 15 graduate assistants and 11 full-time employees that they could be furloughed if the government shutdown continues.
The furlough would be effective beginning Wednesday.
"We deeply regret these actions, but we must follow the guidelines outlined by the federal government and the state Department of Finance and Administration," Len Frey, vice chancellor for finance, said in a press release.
Four other full-time employees will see reductions in their salaries because portions of their compensation are paid with federal funding, according to the press release.
The employees being furloughed are required to return any property assigned to them by the university and can not volunteer to work.
