Tennis takes five against SEMO

Janie Nowland competes for Arkansas State against Jessica Courtnell of Southeast Missouri State at the RidgePointe Country Club Saturday afternoon. Nowland defeated Courtnell 6-4, 6-2.

Arkansas State went 5-1 in its matches against SEMO with Mariana Rong, Tamara Slijepcevic, Ioana Teu, Ceara Howey and Nowland taking home victories. Slijepcevic won her fourth straight singles match with a 6-2, 6-1 over Elizabeth Nyenwe.

Arkansas State is now 2-2 on the 2012 season and will now play six straight matches on the road beginning with a meet against Evansville on Feb. 17.
